Welcome to Helping Hands Against Abuse

WE ARE ....

A family of supporters for victims and survivors of abuse in all its forms ...

There are many survivors of abuse in all it's horrific forms, from child abuse to domestic violence to abuse of the elderly.

Helping Hands Against Abuse hope to bring victims and survivors together into one cyber-family where there is nearly always someone here to share your troubles, your joys, your achievements and sometimes your hilarious mishaps.

MALE ABUSE

For every three victims of partner abuse, for every three victims of domestic abuse and for every three victims of stalking - two will be female, one will be male.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Nearly 1 million women experience at least one incident of domestic abuse each year

CHILD ABUSE

Police recorded over 23,000 sex offences against children aged under 18 years in England and Wales between April 2010 and March 2011

ELDER ABUSE

It is estimated that more than 500,000 older people in the UK are abused (roughly 5% of the older population)

BULLYING

Almost half (46%) of children and young people say they have been bullied at school at some point in their lives

AIMS OF HELPING HANDS AGAINST ABUSE

PROMOTIONAL.... To raise awareness of abuse in all its forms in todays society, by holding fundays, sponsored events etc...also to hold peaceful rallies protesting against the paltry sentences given to those convicted of abuse, also promoting the need of education to help break the cycle of abuse.

EDUCATIONAL.... To educate people of good/bad touch and the dangers of grooming and internet grooming, to make parents aware of the signs of abuse.

HELP AND SUPPORT.....To be a place where victims/survivors, parents, family members and partners can go to talk and get help with the healing process,to set up support centres around the country which will eventually incorporate walk in centres and safe houses and a 24 hour helpline, supporting victims when needing hospital treatment or needing support in court cases.to reach out to those needing help through the website. Supporting victims on their journey to becoming survivors.
